SECURITY HEIGHTENED IN BALI AFTER JAKARTA BOMBINGS

Authorities in Bali reported that security was increased on the island after the bombings at the Jakarta Marriott and Ritz-Carlton hotels. Security was increased at Ngurah Rai International Airport, as well as at the Gilimanuk and Padangbai seaports. Heightened security measures were also implemented in tourist areas in Kuta, Jimbara, Seminyak, Sanur and Legian. Bali's police chief stated that the measures were precautionary and that there were no specific threats to the island.
