EARTHQUAKE HITS SOUTH OF BALI

Early on 19 September 2009 a 6.4 magnitude earthquake occurred south of Bali. The quake, which occurred at approximately 0706 local time at a depth of 22 mi/36 km, struck an area approximately 63 mi/100 km southeast of Nusadua on the island of Bali. No tsunami warning was issued, but the quake caused minor injuries to nine people and minor damage to buildings on the resort island.
