PIPELINE COLLAPSES ON TRAIN IN MUMBAI

A portion of a water pipeline has collapsed on top of a suburban train in northeastern Mumbai. The train was travelling between the suburbs of Mulund and Thane on the Central line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway. One person was killed and 11 others were injured in the mishap. The accident also halted traffic on the Central line between Kurla and Thane, affecting thousands of commuters. Officials estimate that repairs to the line will take until the afternoon of 24 October.
