Operations at Delhi airport suffered delays due to hijack threat

IndiGo flight 6E 334 from Goa to Delhi made an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport (VIDP/DEL) after three passengers behaving aggressively threatened the crew and allegedly made a threat to hijack the aircraft on 1 February 2009. The Airbus A-320 landed and was escorted to an isolated area of the airport where security forces surrounded it, eventually detaining the three suspects and questioning other passengers. The incident caused delays in airport operations for a few hours until authorities determined that the situation was safe. The three detained passengers were unarmed.
