Monsoon hits Mumbai

Heavy rain from a monsoon has caused major transportation disruptions throughout Mumbai since 15 June 2010. Flights at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (VABB/BOM) have been delayed by an average of two hours as of 16 June. The rain has also caused major delays on the Mumbai Suburban Railway. Flooding has been reported in the Andheri, Parel and Dadar areas of the city. A landslide occurred in the Chembur Vashi Naka area; there were no reports of injuries.
