DEVICE DISCOVERED AND DEFUSED ON RAIL LINE IN WEST BENGAL

Officials discovered an improvised explosive device on a rail line in West Bengal on 18 July 2009. The bomb was found between Barabhum and Urma stations in an area near Jharkhand state in the Purulia district. Trains were diverted around the area while the police operation to defuse the device was underway
