CHANDIGARGH-MOHALI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO OPEN IN AUGUST 2009

According to reports on 15 July 2009, Chandigarh-Mohali International Airport in Mohali, Punjab, will begin accepting international flights in August 2009. The Airport Authority of India is currently installing X-Ray machines at the facility, which will serve the states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. The Punjab state government will provide security at the airport. Fly Dubai Airlines plans to begin service to the airport in October 2009. Chandigarh Airport (VICG/IXC) will remain open for domestic flights. The Airports Authority will eventually merge the two airports
