CEO of an Italian car parts company beaten to death

According to reports published on 23 September 2008, the Indian CEO of an Italian car parts company was beaten to death by an irate mob of former workers in Noida, a suburb of New Delhi, on 22 September. Sources state that more than 100 workers who had been fired stormed the factory, damaged machinery and attacked the CEO. The workers were reportedly part of a group of 300 workers who were fired two months ago when they demanded salary increases. The attack followed a meeting that was scheduled to take place between a group of fired workers and the CEO to discuss the possibility of reinstating some of the workers.
