BOMB KILLS TWO IN THE CITY OF MARGAO

A bomb exploded on a scooter near Grace Church in Margao, the second largest city in Goa state, at 2130 local time on 16 October 2009. The blast killed the two people riding on the scooter, who authorities believe are members of Sanatan Sanstha, a right-wing Hindu nationalist organization. Authorities believe that the two men were planning to plant the bomb at the Diwali festival organised by a rival Hindu group when the device accidentally exploded. The organization has denied any involvement.
