Air India pilots hold a one-day strike
24 Sep 2008
On 23 September 2008 Air India pilots held a one-day strike after an altercation between a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officer and an Air India pilot; the action resulted in all Air India pilots due to fly out of Kolkata grounding their aircraft. A Kolkata to New Delhi flight and a Kolkata to Bengaluru flight were canceled due to the strike. Negotiations between the CISF and members of the Indian Commercial Pilots Association later resolved the issue, and Air India is scheduled to resume service on 24 September.
