23 explosive devices found

On 13 August 2008 Indian authorities discovered 23 explosive devices in the Khejuri area of Nandigram, located in the state of West Bengal. The live bombs were described as "crude" devices; reports provided no specific details regarding the locations where they were found. This area has experienced violent demonstrations over the past year against land acquisition proposals for establishing special economic zones (SEZs).
