12 suspects have been arrested in connection with a bombing at New Delhi market

On 28 September 2008 police officers in India announced that 12 suspects have been arrested in connection with a bombing at a crowded market in New Delhi. A small bomb hidden in a bag detonated at a flower market in Mehrauli at approximately 1415 (0845 UTC) on 27 September, killing two people and injuring at least 22 others. Police officials stated that two suspects approached the market and left a small black bag that exploded several minutes later. The suspects then fled on a motorcycle shortly before the explosion. Police officials have not said if any of the suspects have been charged with crimes relating to the bombing. Authorities have told reporters that the investigation is still ongoing and that further arrests could follow.
