Airport strike resumes

The Union of Air Traffic Controllers (LESZ) and the Union of Airport Workers (RDSZSZ) resumed a strike at Budapest's Ferihegy Airport (LHBP/BUD) at 1600 local time on 19 January 2009 after having suspended it on 22 December. Terminal 1 was closed at the start of the strike, with operations moving to Terminal 2. While no flight cancellations have been reported, Hungary's Malev Airlines has warned passengers to expect delays. Negotiations between the unions and airport management are continuing.
