Protests to take place across the country over rising food prices

The Bloque Popular activist group plans to stage demonstrations across Honduras beginning at 0600 local time on 5 August 2008 to demand that the government address rising food prices. The group will hold a rally at La Libertad Park in Tegucigalpa. Although demonstrations will likely be peaceful, isolated confrontations between protesters and police officers are probable.
