Quake Death Toll Could Reach 230,000l

The number of people killed in the Haiti earthquake could be 230,000 according to the Haitian government. it is also estimated that about 300,000 were injured. The latest figure does not include bodies buried by private funeral homes in private cemeteries, or the dead buried by their own families. The death toll from the 12 January quake is approaching that of the Asian tsunami of 26 December 2004, in which about 250,000 people died.
