High potential for further violent unrest

The Haitian Senate confirmed Prime Minister Michelle Pierre-Louis' proposed Cabinet and political agenda in a 16-0 vote with one abstention on 5 September 2008. The vote allows Pierre-Louis to assume office. Pierre-Louis' political agenda will focus on increasing food production, creating more jobs and addressing security conditions in an effort to improve the country's foreign investment climate.
