FERRY CAPSIZES OFF SOUTHERN COAST

On 11 July 2009 a Haitian ferry capsized off of the southern coast of Haiti, near the border with the Dominican Republic. At least six people were killed and so far, 16 people have been rescued; however, dozens are still missing. The vessel was travelling from Anse a Pitre in the Dominican Republic to the peninsula city of Jacmel. At least 60 people were on board the vessel
