02 Jun 2010
Public transportation workers in Athens will stage a 24-hour strike on 3 June 2010 to protest the government's recently introduced economic austerity measures. The work stoppage is expected to halt most public transportation services in the Athens metropolitan area, though trains between Athens and the airport (LGAV/ATH) will operate normally. Journalists and media workers are also expected to stage a nationwide strike on 3 June to protest the austerity measure and other reforms.
