GREECE HIT BY TORRENTIAL RAIN

Torrential rains disrupted transportation and caused flash floods in Greece on 11 December 2009. Most passenger ferry services have been suspended, effectively cutting off many Greek islands in the Aegean Sea from the mainland. Government officials reportedly declared a state of emergency for the Magnesia prefecture along the Aegean coast.
