BOMB EXPLODES NEAR ATHENS RESTAURANT

A 2 kg dynamite bomb exploded near a McDonald's restaurant in Athens on the morning of 3 July 2009. The explosion occurred at approximately 0437 local time. The attack was first thought to have targeted a nearby tax office. Although the restaurant sustained minor damage, there were no injuries reported. Authorities received warning calls before the explosion, but there were no immediate claims of responsibility for the attack.
