Athens is experiences transportation disruptions following strikes

Athens is experiencing transportation disruptions on 17 June 2010 as bus, tram, trolley and metro workers staged strikes. Metro workers are participating in a second consecutive 24-hour strike, while the bus, tram and trolley workers’ strike over social security reforms and wage cuts lasted for five hours. The lack of public transportation is resulting in increased traffic in the capital city, and a protest rally is being planned during the evening hours.
