Public and private sector workers, meanwhile, continued a 48-hour nationwide general strike that has resulted in the suspension of rail and ferry services and also closed government offices and banks across the country.
Air traffic controllers joined the strike, resulting in the cancellation of all flights into and out of Greek airports.
