Results of run-off presidential election due on 30th December

As of 29 December 2008, polling results in Ghana's 28 December run-off presidential election remain close. With more than half of the votes counted, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate Nana Akufo-Addo has 49.26 percent of the votes and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate John Atta Mills has 50.74 percent. Election officials are expected to announce the winner on 30 December.
