SECURITY AT RAIL STATIONS & AIRPORTS INCREASED
21 Sep 2009
The German interior ministry announced that security measures at train stations and airports have been stepped up over concerns that Islamic terrorists will attempt to target the country as it prepares to hold its general election on 27 September. The announcement follows the release of a new video, purportedly from a militant affiliated with al-Qaeda, threatening attacks in Germany in retaliation for the country's military presence in Afghanistan.
