Railway workers strike

As previously announced, railway workers across the country went on strike beginning at 20H00 local time on 6 April 2010 to protest staffing levels and working conditions. The work stoppage is expected to continue until at least 8 April, though workers could extend its duration. Regional and commuter trains are experiencing disruptions on 7 April, with slightly more than half of normal services operating. Meanwhile, 75 percent of TGV high-speed domestic trains are operating, while no significant disruptions are occuring on international high-speed trains.
