Grenade explodes at Addis Ababa bus station

On 15 January 2009 a grenade exploded at a central bus station in Addis Ababa. Police officers stated that a passenger had been carrying the grenade in their luggage and that the explosion was accidental. Authorities do not believe that the blast was terrorist related. At least 33 people were injured; nine of them critically.
