TOUR BUS CRASH REPORTED IN EASTERN EGYPT

A passenger tour bus crashed on a highway in eastern Egypt on 16 July 2009. Transportation officials stated that at least 11 people, including travellers from Serbia, were killed when the bus crashed into a freight truck near the town of Safaga along the Red Sea coast. The cause of the crash is not yet known, although investigators stated that the incident occurred along a treacherous stretch of the highway with only two narrow traffic lanes.
