Heavy Rains Affect Tourist Areas And A Tourist dies As Boat Overturns

Heavy rains on 18 January 2010 caused disruptions in parts of the Middle East, including Egypt. Sudden heavy rains and strong winds resulted in a Nile River cruise boat overturning; a British tourist was killed in the incident, and several others were injured. Several homes in southern Egypt collapsed, and a man was killed when he became caught up in a flash flood in the northern Sinai Peninsula. In the southern tourist town of Luxor, heavy rains caused power failures and disrupted ferry, sailboat and Nile cruise schedules.
