We were recommended by a close friend to use Direct Travel Insurance, so this was our first experience with the company. Sadly I took two heavy falls when skiing in Bulgaria - mainly because of the icy conditions - and hurt both knees and twisted my ankle. The Medical staff were brilliant with their treatment. On my return I put my insurance claim in and it was handled extremely efficiently and promptly - many thanks. We are shortly travelling to South Africa on holiday and I sincerely hope that we do not have to use the service again!

I have often used Direct Travel and insured with you earlier this year for a group trip to the US. A member of our party (who also had a policy with Direct Travel Insurance) became ill on the trip. On a recent holiday to Cyprus, I was taken ill with a chest infection leading to pneumonia. I was in hospital for 5 days. Direct Travel Insurance took care of everything and their representative rang me every day to enquire about my health. They even called me on my return home to ask how I was feeling.
We have recently had to claim with Direct Travel Insurance following our ski trip to La Thuile. My partner unfortunately had an accident in the first five minutes of the holiday. I was let down by my previous travel insurance company, owing to a new medical condition, the night before departing on a cruise. They refused me any cover at all, you can imagine the stress I was under. My daughter recommended me to Direct Travel Insurance, I telephoned them that same evening, they were able to give me insurance for the cruise, gave me immediately the policy number and emailed me the necessary documents for me to take on the cruise. My husband had a fall on holiday and was prescribed pain relief medication. Not understanding Spanish and because my husband is allergic to anything that contains aspirin, we called Talking Nurses. We were able to get full peace of mind as the nurse confirmed exactly what the medication was, how and when to take it and more importantly that it was safe for him to have.
