Protesters gather against kidnappings

Thousands of protesters gathered in major cities in Colombia on 28 November 2008 to protest kidnappings by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). Demonstrations were held in Bogota, Medellen and Cali. Participants demanded that FARC release the hundreds of people it is currently holding captive. Smaller demonstrations were held in Paris, France and Madrid, Spain. FARC is estimated to currently have 350-700 hostages in its jungle camps.
