Cali car bomb kills 2 and injures 30 more

A car bomb explosion near a police administrative building on the1st February in Cali killed two people and injured at least 30 others. The explosion occurred only a few hours after Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) rebels released four hostages. The blast reportedly caused significant damage to surrounding buildings and led to a momentary blackout in the neighbourhood where the bomb was detonated. Authorities killed the bomber as he attempted to flee the scene. Colombian President Alvaro Uribe blamed FARC rebels for the attack.
