Bombs explosions at two hotels in the city of Neiva

Bombs exploded at two hotels in the city of Neiva, located 186 mi/300 km south of Bogota, at approximately 2250 local time on 12 October 2008. The first device detonated at the Plaza Hotel Neiva, while the second device detonated two blocks away at the Hotel Sulicam in the vicinity of the Palace of Justice. The blasts caused significant damage to the facilities, killed at least one person and injured at least five others. Authorities suspect that members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) carried out the attacks.
