Bomb at festival kills 7 and many more injured

A bomb exploded in the La Mejor Esquina area of Ituango, which is located approximately 118 mi/190 km north of Medellín in the department of Antioquia, at 2230 local time on 14 August 2008. The bomb detonated near a bar in a busy section of the city, where hundreds of people had gathered for a festival. The attack killed at least seven people and wounded 50 others. Initial reports indicate the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) may have been responsible for the attack.
