All travel around the Nevado del Huila volcano should be avoided

The Nevado del Huila volcano in the Parque de los Nevados (on the Huila/Cauca/Tolima boundary) erupted on the evening of 20 November 2008, causing a mudslide. Colombia's Institute of Seismology has placed the volcano on the highest state of alert. Several hundred people living in the immediate area have been evacuated, and there are reports of a number of deaths and injuries.
