Typhoon to make landfall near Hong Kong

According to meteorologists at Wilkens Weather Technologies, Typhoon Nuri is expected to make landfall near Hong Kong during afternoon hours local time on 22 August 2008. Nuri has weakened and will continue to do so over the next 24 hours and will be considered a minimal typhoon ahead of landfall. Currently Nuri is located 224 mi/361 km southeast of Hong Kong and is moving west-northwest at approximately 12 mph/10 kt. Nuri has maximum sustained winds of approximately 130 mph/70 kt with gusts of 157 mph/85 kt.
