Tibet closed to the public

China announced today that Tibet is closed to the public; the closure is reportedly linked to the 50th anniversary of a failed Tibetan uprising, which falls on 10 March, the region will be closed to foreigners until late March Furthermore Sichuan which was reopened to tourists two weeks ago, it is now closed until April and some areas in Qinghai have also been closed until further notice.
