New Airport Terminal Opens at Honqiao International Aiport

A new terminal officially opened at Hongqiao International Airport (ZSSS/SHA) in Shanghai on 16 March 2010. It is expected that more than 90 percent of airline operations will transferred to Terminal 2 as 17 March. Travelers experienced transportation delays during the first day of the transition, as the elevated road leading to the new terminal was severely congested. Hongqiao, while a primarily domestic terminal, also operates flights to Japan and South Korea.
