Air China flights from Beijing to cities in Zhejiang province were the targets of a terrorist threat on the morning of 20 November 2008. According to Air China officials, an anonymous phone call was received at approximately 0932 local time stating that flights from Beijing to Zhejiang might be attacked. Upon receipt of the threat, an Air China flight, CA1595, enroute from Beijing to Hangzhou City, the capital of Zhejiang Province, was ordered to return to Beijing Capital International Airport (ZBAA/PEK). The boarding process of another flight, CA1813, flying from Beijing to Wenzhou City in Zhejiang, was halted in response to the threat. Additional security checks were implemented thereafter, and no additional problems were identified. Both flights resumed after a thorough investigation.
