Employees of the public transportation system in Santiago, launch an indefinite strike

On 1 July 2010 at least 600 employees of Transantiago, the public transportation system in Santiago, launched an indefinite strike to demand that the company pay wages that have allegedly gone undelivered for 15 months. At least 190 buses are not operating due to the work stoppage, affecting the southern neighbourhoods of Lo Espejo, Pedro Aguirre Cerda, San Joaquin, San Miguel and part of Santiago Centro
