Bomb explodes outside Santiago bank

A low-intensity bomb exploded outside a Banco Santander branch on the corner of Avenida Vicuna Mackenna and Victoria Street in the Matta neighborhood of Santiago at 0300 local time on 23 October 2008. The blast shattered the bank's windows, but did not cause any injuries. Several other similar bombs have exploded outside bank branches in Santiago in recent months. All of the incidents have occurred at night when few people were in the vicinity. Authorities have not determined who carried out the attacks.
