Bomb explodes outside Santiago bank

A bomb exploded outside a branch of Banco Itau, a Brazilian bank, on Avenida Principe de Gales in the La Reina area of eastern Santiago at 0000 local time on 13 August 2008. The bank sustained structural damage. The blast also damaged several nearby houses. The bank's security cameras captured footage of a man leaving a package outside the bank shortly before the explosion. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
