Romoval of street barricades afte G20 Summit
28 Jun 2010
As of 28 June 2010 authorities are in the process of removing the security barricade around the Metro Toronto Convention Center, where the G20 Summit took place from 26-27 June. It could take several days before the fence is completely removed. There are still some street closures in the area, though normal traffic patterns have largely resumed. Violence marred the demonstrations during the summit; protesters set fire to vehicles and clashed with police officers. Protesters used baseball bats to break the windows of buildings, including banks. Police officers dispersed crowds by firing tear gas and rubber bullets. More than 900 people were arrested during the summit.
