Visa on arrival system to be implemented

Officials announced on 7 September 2008 that they intend to implement a new "visa-on-arrival" system from November 2008 in an attempt to promote foreign tourism. The specific countries to be covered have yet to be announced. Currently, entering Burma (Myanmar) requires obtaining a visa at one of the country's embassies.
