Small bomb explosion in Shwepyithar

A small bomb exploded at the offices of a pro-government association in the Yangon suburb of Shwepyithar at approximately 0630 local time (1200 UTC) on 1 July 2008. The blast caused minor damage, but there were no reports of injuries. Anti-riot police officers were dispatched to the area following the explosion. The office targeted in the attack belongs to the Union Solidarity and Development Association (USDA), a social welfare organization that supports the military junta.
