Bomb explosion on minibus

A small bomb exploded on a minibus en route from the town of Kyaukkyi to Yangon on 15 July 2008. Authorities stated that one person riding on the bus was killed and another person was injured in the explosion. The bomb reportedly detonated at 0850 local time (0220 UTC) as the bus was passing through the town of Daik Oo. Investigators blamed militant insurgents for the attack. Kyaukkyi is located near militant rebel camps in Karen state, where rebels have launched attacks against the military government in Burma (Myanmar).
