RIO UNDERGROUND TRAINS COLLIDED

At approximately 2030 local time on 19 October 2009 a passenger train on Rio de Janeiro's Central-Japeri subway line collided with an empty train parked at the platform of Japeri Station. The collision left 18 people lightly injured. The railway administrator, Supervia, has opened an investigation into the incident, which did not result in significant travel delays due to the late hour at which it occurred.
