Taxi fares to rise across the country

Taxi drivers across Bolivia will raise their fares from the 16th of March. The measure that the national government has strongly condemned. President Evo Morales maintains that fares should not be raised because the price of gas has remained consistently low, but drivers claim that the economic slowdown requires them to raise their rates. The Ministry of Transport is still working on a resolving the conflict but have stated that if no agreement is reached, drivers may be fined or have their vehicles seized.
