Increased risk of demonstrations in the coming days

There is an increased risk of demonstrations throughout Bolivia in the coming days as opponents of the government's pension reform plans are likely to continue to stage protests as they did on 24 July 2008, when they held demonstrations in several cities, including La Paz, Sucre, Potosí, Cochabamba, Oruro and Tarija. Transportation disruptions are likely to occur in the vicinity of demonstrations as protesters have threatened to block roads.
