Tropical Storm Bertha - Update

Tropical Storm Bertha passed near Bermuda on 14 July 2008, flooding roads and creating other transportation disruptions. Most airlines canceled flights to L.F. Wade International Airport (TXKF/BDA) on 14 July; however, regular flights have resumed on 15 July. Ferry service was also canceled. The storm caused power outages throughout the territory, affecting approximately 4,000 people for several hours. As of 0900 UTC on 15 July, Bertha was located approximately 190 mi/305 km north-northeast of Bermuda. It is moving north-northeast at 9 mph/8 kt and has maximum sustained winds of 70 mph/61 kt. According to meteorologists at Wilkens Weather Technologies, the storm will likely strengthen and once again reach hurricane status as it moves to the northeast. However, it is not expected to make landfall again.
