Hurricane heading towards Bermuda

Tropical Storm Bertha strengthened to hurricane status on 7 July 2008. As of 0900 local time, Hurricane Bertha was located approximately 845 mi/1,365 km east of the northern Leeward Islands, which include Antigua and St. Kitts in the Caribbean. The hurricane is moving west-northwest at 17 mph/14 kt and has maximum sustained winds of 75 mph/65 kt. Meteorologists at Wilkens Weather Technologies project that the hurricane may pass near Bermuda on 12 July.
